Isaac Arguetty: Always about quality

USA (by Cheryll Frank) The depth of Isaac Arguetty's commitment to and involvement in the sport horse industry belies the fact that his family has not been in sport horses for the past 200 years or so. In fact, Arguetty came to the sport horse arena in general – and showjumping in particular – at the beginning of the newest era of equestrian sport, around 1980.

But in the scant 20 years since that first encounter, Arguetty's involvement has grown and changed to the extent that he must now be considered one of the industry's leaders, even one of North America's few visionaries.

Like a lot of show jumping's 'new blood,' the Bulgarian native came to the sport through his daughter Mihal and her participation in the hunter divisions. It was also through Mihal's training in California that the Arguetty family first met Meredith Michaels. “We met Meredith in California, where Mihal was training, and we all followed the path together. Meredith was only a teenager, but it was obvious she was very talented.”
